FREE MOVIE NIGHT IN HUDSON FALLS!

The World Cinema Series continues at The Strand Theatre in Hudson Falls!

I'm so happy & excited to host a FREE screening of the original Japanese version of "Godzilla"! This is the film that kicked off the Godzilla franchise (unknowingly) 70 years ago when it premiered on November 3rd, 1954!

The version you most likely have seen (unless you're a film fan like myself) is the re-edited American version, "Godzilla: King Of The Monsters" from 1956 with inserted scenes starring Raymond Burr! I know I enjoyed this film. It had an excellent B movie vibe.

The original Japanese film also known as "Gojira" wasn't seen in the US until the 50th anniversary in 2004! Crazy! When I purchased the DVD around that time frame, I was shocked! I didn't know there was a completely different version of this film. After I watched it, I was emotional. I was crying because the film was more than a kaiju (monster movie) or a "B-Movie". It was an absolute masterpiece! Harrowing, tragic, well acted, written & directed! The film was PERFECTION! What a powerful protest against nuclear warfare & weaponry and a critique on human tendencies as well!

Godzilla was (and still is) my favorite film franchise. All of the highs & lows, I've been there as a fan! Not only is this 1954 original my favorite of the 70 year franchise, but one of my favorite films of all time. "Godzilla Minus One" has become my second favorite (and it's almost as powerful as this).

If you love Godzilla cinema, you need to be at The Strand in Hudson Falls Thursday November 14th at 7pm for a FREE screening of this timeless masterpiece!
