Last Saturday, Schuylerville overcame a two score deficit through two solidly structured drives to win the New York State Class C Football Championship.
Since taking over the program in the mid-2010's, Athletic Director and head coach John Bowen has turned Schuylerville into a force in Section 2, claiming several sectional championships and taking the Black Horses to Syracuse four times for the State Championship.
That 26-20 win over Salamanca being the first title in those four trips for Coach Bowen and the Black Horses.
Here's Coach Bowen talking with Rockin' Rick about the adjustments his team needed to make after the first half, a status update on Silas Schulte-Lindhorst, the German exchange kicker who was injured on the point after try after Schuylerville tied the game 20-20, the feelings his team got when parading through the Village of Schuylerville after the win and the reception of 500+ at Schuylerville High School after pulling in. Also, what has helped him and his coaching staff turn the program around since coming to Schuylerville and his thoughts on some of the key members of his squad.
Part 1: Halftime Adjustments, an update on Silas Schulte-Lindhorst, and what Dr. Robert Zayas did after the game for Schuylerville.
