On April 23, 1971...The Rolling Stones released the record "Sticky Fingers" which is still considered to be one of their very best albums. And while the record was released in 1971...Recording for the record actually took place in 1969. "Sticky Fingers" was The Rolling Stones ninth British and eleventh American studio album and it was the The Rolling Stone's first album to reach #1 on both the US and the UK album charts. In 2003...Rolling Stone Magazine ranked the record at #63 on it's list of The 500 Greatest Albums Of All time! "Sticky Fingers" was The Rolling Stone's first album without founding member Brian Jones who had passed on in 1969 and it was their first record with guitarist Mick Taylor who would remain with the band through 1974. The somewhat controversial album cover with the movable zipper was eventually modified to only being a picture of a zipper because it was determined that it was sometimes damaging the enclosed vinyl album! The record contains some true Rolling Stone's classics...including "Can't You hear Me Knocking", "Dead Flowers" and "Bitch" among others and it also spawned The Rolling Stone's very successful 1971 hit singles "Brown Sugar" and "Wild Horses" as well!!!
