U2's classic record "The Unforgettable Fire"...

Forty years ago this week back in 1984...U2 released their fourth studio album..."The Unforgettable Fire"..."The Unforgettable Fire" was a successful album for U2...reaching #12 on The Billboard Albums chart as had their proceeding record..."War" which had been released in 1983. However...for this record....U2 was seeking a different musical direction from their harder rocking record "War"... and to accomplish this...They hired Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois to produce this record. The result was a much more ambient and abstract sound than what had been featured on their three previous albums. The record was recorded between May and August of 1984 and was released on October 1, 1984! Three tracks from the record received significant radio airplay at the time including  "Bad", Wire" and "Pride In The Name Of Love"....
