The project will bring daily closures and potential odors to residents east of Downtown.
GLENS FALLS - The City of Glens Falls Water and Sewer Department is warning residents of an upcoming sewer replacement project that will cause daily detours just east of downtown.
The sanitary sewer at 133 Maple Street will be replaced starting Monday, April 21st, prompting the closure of Maple Street to all non-local traffic between Pearl Street and Cherry Street during work hours of 7AM to 3PM while work continues on the project.
The city estimates the project will take two weeks to complete, weather permitting.
The Water and Sewer Department is advising those in the work area that odors may be detected for those in homes or buildings with dry or non-existent traps. To minimize this, it is recommended several gallons of water be poured into plumbing fixtures such as sinks, showers, toilets, bathtubs, and other drains, and opening windows to ventilate.
Any questions should be directed to the Glens Falls Water & Sewer Department at 518-761-3850.
